Making the most of your title tags

Title tags are very important for Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). They are used by search engines to index your site and are displayed in the search engine results pages.Title tags appear on the top left corner of your browser. It is the first line of every search engine result, the paragraph below being the description tags and the last line being the page URL.
In order to make your title tags appealing to both search engines and Internet users, you should:

  • Use up to 60 characters
  • Avoid sentences and articles (“the”, “that”, “a”, ….)
  • Write unique and descriptive tags
  • Title tags are not case sensitive, you can capitalize the first letter of every word for improved readability
